When I said earlier today that OS/2 C-Kermit 5A(191) was not supported
any more now that Kermit 95 for OS/2 has been released, that was not
supposed to make time bombs go off in the old version :-)
Seriously, it's hard to imagine what the specific trouble might be, but
obviously it's tied to Warp 4.0. It's worth noting that:
1. OS/2 C-Kermit 5A(191) predates Warp 4.0, and was not written for it,
nor tested under it during development, obviously, whereas Kermit 95
for OS/2 *was* developed and tested under Warp 4.0 (and 3.0, as well
as earlier OS/2 versions).
2. Although OS/2 C-Kermit was pretty solid, it was not without bugs, all
known examples of which have been fixed in the new release.
If IBM introduced features into Warp 4.0 that broke C-Kermit 5A(191), it
certainly is not for lack of opportunity for them test it first -- that
version of Kermit was distributed by IBM itself on the OS/2 Developer CD.
